The 16th IEEE Computer Society symposium on object/component/service-oriented realtine distributed computing deals with the rapdily expanding field of object/component/service-oriented real-time distributed computing (ORC) technology. The principal theme of ISORC is the use of the object-oriented computing paradigm - which has prevailed in many non real-time applicationes. In the ISORC series, this paradigm emphasizes its spirit of openness where diverse views and new approaches to challenging issues can be freely discussed.

IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS) is the premier conference in the area of real-time systems, presenting innovations in the field with respect to theory and practice. RTSS provides a forum for the presentation of high-quality, original research covering all aspects of real-time systems design, analysis, implementation, evaluation, and experiences. RTSS 2012 continues the trend of making RTSS an expansive and inclusive symposium, looking to embrace new and emerging areas of real-time systems research.

The goal of this two-day, single-track event is to expose researchers to control and modeling challenges in cyber-physical systems (CPS) with the aim of exchanging knowledge and fostering collaborations between academia, industry, and government agencies. The proposed symposium will cover several applications of cyber-physical systems such as networked systems of unmanned vehicles, power grids, green buildings, transportation systems and health-care systems via invited talks, poster presentations and a panel discussion.

We cordially invite you to attend the 2011 Safe & Secure Systems & Software Symposium (S5) on 14,15 and 16 June at the Hilton Garden Inn, Beavercreek Ohio (near Wright Patterson Air Force Base). The Air Force Research Laboratory Air Vehicles Directorate will be hosting the Symposium and there is no registration fee to attend.
