Seattle: An Educational Platform For Systems Classes

ABSTRACT

This poster describes how the Seattle testbed (https://seattle.cs.washington.edu/html/NSF-1205415) can be used in the classroom to teach systems classes. We discuss the community’s experiences using this platform over 25 classes during the past 3 years (with 7 others in progress this semester). This includes networking, cloud computing, distributed systems, and security classes. Interested parties will see a live demo of the system and receive detailed information about existing assignments that have already proven successful in classes at a variety of universities.
