The aim of ESORICS is to further the progress of research in computer security by establishing a European forum for bringing together researchers in this area, by promoting the exchange of ideas with system developers and by encouraging links with researchers in related areas. Progressively organised in a series of European countries, the symposium is confirmed as the European research event in computer security.

RAID 2002 was hosted in Zurich, Switzerland by the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH).

RAID'98 was held in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, on 14-16 September 1998. RAID'98 has been held in the same location as CARDIS'98 and ESORICS'98 , at the same time as the former and just prior to the latter. A registration discount was available to those attending both the ESORICS conference and the RAID workshop.

The RAID International Symposium series is intended to further progress in intrusion detection by promoting the exchange of ideas in a broad range of topics among researchers, system developers and users. RAID'98, held in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, was hosted by the Universite Catholique de Louvain and welcomed 130 participants, with nearly 50% from outside Europe, reflecting the international nature of the meeting. RAID'99, held in Purdue, Indiana, was hosted by CERIAS and welcomed more than 180 participants from academia, government and industry.

The RAID 2000 Program Committee invites participants interested in the newest technologies developped in the area of intrusion detection research and deployment, to register with our local organizer, ONERA-CERT. A preliminary program is available. In a nutshell, RAID will welcome 30 presentations and two panels over 2 1/2 days.
