Submit Position Paper

Due to space availability, participation in CRC17 is by invitation only. Interested members of the community are invited to submit a position paper in order to be considered for invitation. Position papers should explore challenges and opportunities around the topics outlined in the program agenda. Proposers can take one (or more) of the following approaches to composing the position papers: (1) articulating overarching challenges in rural communities, (2) describe ongoing relevant research, or (3) propose forward-looking research opportunities/agendas. Please be brief, position papers should be no more than 7,00 words and should not exceed 2 pages (including images, if applicable). The Program Committee will evaluate and select the position papers through a ranking process. Criteria for selection include:

  • Contributions to identifying connected rural communities challenges;
  • Contribution to identifying the 10-year research agenda toward connected rural communities;
  • Diversity across disciplines, domains, and sectors;
  • Diversity in expertise, experiences, and seniority of the researcher; and
  • Participation of early-career investigators and under-represented minorities are encouraged.

Selection decision/invitation send out: August 1, 2017
Required confirmation from participant: August 3, 2017
2nd round of invitation (if needed in case of invitation declined): August 5, 2017
Workshop date: Thursday-Friday September 7-8, 2017
