The Department of Defense (DoD) has launched the DoD University Consortium for Cybersecurity (UC2), which aims to foster better communication between the Secretary of Defense and academia, and meet a requirement set by the 2020 National Authorization Act. The National Defense University's College of Information and Cyberspace (CIC) will operate as the UC2 Coordination Center, with Jim Chen, a CIC faculty member, being the center's director.
