NSF ENTRANCE INFORMATION:

The National Science Foundation is located in the Ballston area of North Arlington, Virginia, between Wilson Boulevard and Fairfax Drive, one block south of the Ballston-Marymount Metro stop on the Orange Line. The NSF building is located a few blocks from Route 66 (Exit 71) and Route 50, approximately three miles from downtown Washington, D.C., and is easily accessible from many points of arrival and departure from within the Metropolitan D.C. area.

Visitors are asked to check in at the NSF Reception and Information Center located at the corner of 9th and North Stuart Streets entrance at the north elevator lobby on the first floor to receive a visitor pass. Please bring a picture ID. You will be provided (or please ask for) information about accessing the NSF network for Internet service. Then proceed to the 12th floor to room 1235.

To reach NSF from Holiday Inn, walk east (towards Glebe Road) on Fairfax Drive until you reach the Ballston Metro stop, turn right on Stuart Street and walk one block. The north entrance of NSF is located at the intersection of Stuart Street and 9th Street.

PARKING:

Parking is available in the Ballston Common Mall, in the NSF building, and at other area parking lots and garages. Metered parking is also available on the surrounding streets.

AROUND NSF:

Visitors to the NSF will find shopping and food facilities, including those at the Ballston Common Mall Food Court and in the NSF building itself.  The NSF has a small cafeteria (Science Fair) on the second Floor, just beyond the guard desk.
