About

The 2025 NSF-Jacobs Foundation Workshop on Deconstructing the Universal Mind took place June 12th and 13th, 2025 on the campus of The George Washington University on the third floor of the Media & Public Affairs (MPA) building located at 805 21st Street, N.W. 20052.
The goal of the workshop was to discuss cross-disciplinary approaches to universality and variability in the behavioral, neural, and cognitive sciences. Of particular interest is how to balance theory-building with situated models of development and behavior, and in the practical and methodological obstacles to making progress on these questions. The workshop was organized around 90 minute symposia and included remote participation.
