Francys Subiaul is a cognitive scientist and Associate Professor in the Departments of Anthropology and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at The George Washington University. Trained in experimental psychology and biological anthropology, his research investigates the nature and origins of social intelligence, with a focus on socio-cultural learning. To address these questions, he has studied captive monkeys and great apes as well as typically- and atypically-developing children using custom-designed digital tasks that measure flexible social learning across domains. His work has been published in journals such as Science, Proceedings of the Royal Society, Developmental Science, and Cognition, and funded by The James S. McDonnell Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and a CAREER award from the National Sciences Foundation.
