ABOUT
The objective of this workshop is to open a dialogue between civil engineers, computer scientists, and earth systems scientists on the potential of digital twins to improve the resilience and efficiency of the nation’s highway transportation infrastructure. Unlike traditional simulations, digital twins are dynamic, bidirectional virtual counterparts of physical systems. They integrate real-time sensor data, recalibrate continuously, and provide rapid, actionable insights that influence both automated control and human-in-the-loop decision-making in the real world.
