ELEANOR "ELLE" SUMMERFIELD

Eleanor "Elle" Summerfield is a junior at Vanderbilt University from Louisville, Kentucky. She is majoring in Computer Science and pursuing minors in Economics and Women and Gender Studies. She is a strong leader and loves working in groups. She was the Student Body President of her high school, and led a feminist organization called Pearl Project. Since college she has remained a leader by becoming an engineering mentor for incoming freshman as well as a STEM tutor in the school of engineering. She has also upheld her dedication for promoting gender equality in STEM through joining the Society of Women Engineers and the Women in Computing club on campus. Her courses in programming and problem solving as well as computer ethics have sparked a new passion in her for exploring and helping to shape the future of technology.

Elle is working on the "Tools for Assured Autonomy" project under the supervision of Dr. Gabor Karsai.
