Vanderbilt Digital Nights Series

(2020-2021)

Welcome to the home page for the Vanderbilt Digital Nights Program! This series of events is sponsored by the Computational Thinking and Learning Initiative (CTLI), a group of interdisciplinary researchers from across Vanderbilt University leading new efforts to recast computers as integral knowledge partners across a range of subject areas, not simply as monolithic tools reserved for high-level programmers.

Vanderbilt Digital Nights is a series of free hands-on workshops organized by the CTLI at Vanderbilt where participants will create fun computer programs. The event is targeted at high school students who want to explore what computer science is all about, but interested teachers and parents are also welcome.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this event will take place virtually.

The Inaugural Event "Build a Weather App" took place on November 19th, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. (CST) with the participation of almost 75 registered attendees!

Upcoming 2021 events in the series will include:

January 28th, 4-6 p.m. (CST) - Movies
February 25th, 4-6 p.m. (CST) - Chat Room
March 25th, 4-6 p.m. (CST) - Multi-player Game
