Decentralized Autonomy in Building Cyber-Physical Systems

A new framework introduces decentralized autonomous systems for building management, combining Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), digital twins, and large language models (LLMs) to enhance building self-management and transparency. Unlike traditional AI, which uses fixed rules, this approach allows real-time adaptation to complex operational demands. Tested in six scenarios, the system supports autonomous financial and operational tasks, from expense management to AI-assisted control, demonstrating the potential for secure, self-governing infrastructure.
