NSF STEM Job Openings

The U. S. National Science Foundation (NSF) is pleased to announce that vacancies have been posted seeking to recruit early-career scientists and engineers in the roles of science assistant or science/engineering analyst. These positions serve a crucial role in carrying out NSF’s mission. They work with program directors to plan and analyze program portfolios, identify emerging research areas, and manage the merit review of proposals.

The staff in these positions will employ data analysis to understand the landscape of the principal investigator community and the impact of current NSF investments. The incumbents will work internally and externally to engage with the research community through outreach and other community activities. NSF supports the professional development of science assistants and analysts through interdisciplinary activities, training, and opportunities to engage in independent research and collaboration.

Applications must be submitted through USAJOBS. These vacancy announcements are scheduled to remain open through May 18, 2026; however, both postings are subject to applicant limits and may close before the closing date. To ensure consideration, interested applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible. Please refer to the job announcements below for additional details.

Please share these vacancy announcements with your professional networks and colleagues who may find them of interest, including recent graduates and students nearing the completion of their studies.
