SRC Workshop on Automotive Cybersecurity and Autonomous Vehicles for 2025 and Beyond (invitation only)

Introduction

The Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) is launching a new emerging technology research project related to automotive cybersecurity (AC) and autonomous vehicles (AV). The AC/AV research project will consist of two subprograms: automotive cybersecurity (AC) and autonomous vehicles (AV). Interested participants may join one or both programs. These programs will be focused on providing 10x improvements in sensor sensitivity and cost, 100x improvements in computer vision and machine learning performance along with new, high dependability architectures to provide both safe and secure systems. By working with both government and industry sponsors, the goal of these programs is to enable university research to facilitate safe, secure and ubiquitous autonomous vehicles by 2025. SRC is inviting leaders from the automotive industry ecosystem including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, semiconductor and software companies, government agencies and academia to participate in the definition phase of these programs. Participants will have the opportunity to interact and prioritize the long range, university research to revolutionize the automotive industry.

The objectives are:

  • Discuss and prioritize the future challenges associated with automotive cybersecurity and autonomous vehicles that can be overcome with pre-competitive university research; and
  • Generate a detailed Needs document to define a collective call for university proposals.

Workshop Structure

There will be six technical sessions each with one keynote speaker (40 minute talk) and three panelists (20 minute talks) during the first day and a half of the meeting. Following each session there will be a panel and audience discussion of the most needed university research contributions. The last half day of the meeting will be dedicated to finalizing the Needs document for an upcoming call for university research proposals. All attendees shall participate in the discussions. Attendance is by invitation only.
