Challenges in Realizing the Internet of Things

June 18, 2014 - FORCES investigator Janos Sztipanovits, Professor of Engineering and Director of the Institute for Software Integrated Systems at Vanderbilt University, is quoted in The Tennessean about opportunities and challenges for an "Internet of Things." While there is enormous potential as people, organizations, and devices are more connected, barriers exist to making this vision a reality. Things like connectivity, decision making, security, and privacy all need to be addressed as the Internet of Things cyber-physical technology advances and we think about ways in which it will affect society.
