WYDOT Webinar
Date: Feb 17, 2018 1:00 pm – Feb 17, 2018 2:30 pm
Free Public Webinar on Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) Connected Vehicle Pilot: Update at the Application Design Stage
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) will host a webinar about the connected vehicle applications being developed as part of the WYDOT Connected Vehicle Pilot. Representatives from the WYDOT Pilot will share their experiences in designing the safety and weather-related connected vehicle applications; identify technical and other barriers they face and how they are being addressed; and discuss the eventual testing and performance measurement of the applications.
Sponsored by the USDOT Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO), the Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program is a national effort to deploy, test, and operationalize cutting-edge mobile and roadside technologies and enable multiple connected vehicle applications. These innovative technologies and applications have the potential for immediate beneficial impacts -- to save lives, improve personal mobility, enhance economic productivity, reduce environmental impacts, and transform public agency operations. The USDOT awarded three cooperative agreements collectively worth more than $45 million to three agencies: WYDOT, New York City (NYC) DOT, and Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA). From September 2015 to September 2016, each site prepared a comprehensive deployment concept to ensure a rapid and efficient connected vehicle capability roll-out. Now, the three sites are toward the end of the 20-month phase to design, build, and test these deployments of integrated wireless in-vehicle, mobile device, and roadside technologies.
To hear from site leaders who are breaking new ground in connected vehicle deployment, please register for this webinar.
