Location: Oakland, California

The 2002 IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy was held in Oakland, California on May 12-15. The 2002 symposium marked the 23rd annual meeting of this flagship conference, the premier conference in the field of computer security. This year we planned to re-establish our emphasis on electronic privacy, while continuing to attract the most significant advances in all areas of computer security. Since 1980, the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy has been the premier forum for the presentation of developments in computer security and electronic privacy, and for bringing together researchers and practitioners in the field.
