NSF-PIRE Workshop on Assured CPS Autonomy for 3D Urban Transportation: Drones, Flying Cars, and Beyond

The US-German collaborative workshop was held 9-10 June 2021. The goal of the workshop was to flesh out the issues in developing the technology and policy enablers for 3D Urban Transportation. The PIRE Science of Design for Societal-Scale CPS Project Review Meeting will be held Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25 at the Vanderbilt University Institute for Software and Integrated Systems (VU-ISIS) in Nashville, Tennessee. VU-ISIS is located at 1025 16th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212.

Symposium on Highly Automated Driving Challenges
28-29 October 2018 | Washington, D.C.
Hosted by the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) the symposium investigated the rapidly increasing presence of autonomous systems driven by the confluence of advancements in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) that creates fundamental societal and technical challenges that intertwine liability, certification, assurance and policy issues. The workshop brought together research organizations and public authorities from US and Germany to discuss these challenges for the specific context of highly autonomous driving and will identify synergy potentials and differences in research approaches of both nations.
