As all aspects of society become connected to the Internet, proper cybersecurity practices are more important than ever. Staying safe when surfing the web or engaging on social media can seem overwhelming, but there are simple steps people can take to protect themselves. This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, I hope you will join me, the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit, State Cybersecurity Officer Mike Steinmetz, and local officials for an educational cybersecurity presentation I am hosting at the Cranston Public Library.
