Mark Traband

Dr. Traband is Head of the Manufacturing Systems Division at the Applied Research Laboratory, The Pennsylvania State  University.  Dr. Traband is also an affiliate faculty member of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State.  Dr. Traband is Principle Investigator of the DARPA project iFAB Foundry.  The goal of this program is to develop a flexible, programmable, distributed production capability to accommodate a wide range of military ground vehicle systems and systems variants, enabling the substantial compression of time required to go from idea to product.  Dr. Traband has over 20 years of  applied research and development experience in advanced manufacturing system development for DoD enterprises, including government and contractor manufacturing and repair facilities. Dr. Traband received a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  He was selected as an Office of Naval Research Graduate Fellow and received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
