RCIS 2020

Date: Sep 22, 2020 11:00 pm – Sep 25, 2020 10:00 am
Location: Limassol, Cyprus

********RCIS 2020 Statement on Coronavirus (UPDATED 5/18)**********

After very careful consideration of all the parameters regarding the new Coronavirus outbreak, the RCIS Board of Directors in collaboration with the Scientific Committee and the Local Organizing Committee, have decided to postpone the conference until 23-25 of September 2020. The main concern has been the health of all conference participants and the limitation of the spreading of this new disease. In addition, many organizations (universities, research centres and international or EU organizations) have restricted their staff mobility and reimbursement which was causing serious stress to participants.

Thus, the following parameters should be noted:

  • The new dates regarding the conference are 23-25/9/2020.
  • The venue will remain the same, the Royal Apollonia Beach Hotel in Limassol.
  • Camera-Ready and Author Registration deadline moves forward to April 30th.
  • The research projects deadline is extended to April 10.
  • Early (non-author!) registration deadline is set to September 4th.
  • In an effort to minimize hassle and costs, the following actions are being taken regarding registrations and other local services:
    • All the registrations will be automatically transferred. Conference Organizers will accept a substitute at no additional cost, if a registered conference participant is unable to attend the conference. However, if someone would like to cancel and get a refund, this would be possible, (an administration fee of 50 euro and relevant bank/credit card charges may apply).
    • All local arrangements, (hotel bookings, airport transfers, car hire, etc.) will be cancelled and a relevant credit will appear in your Easy Conferences account. This credit could be used to book similar services once you finalize your new travel arrangements. However, if someone would like to get a full refund at this stage, this could be possible
    • The Easy Conferences staff will be ready to assist with all new arrangements, invoicing and refunds. Please do not hesitate to get in touch via email or telephone.
  • All participants’ accounts (within the Easy Conferences system) will be updated the soonest. In addition, the system and the conference website will also be updated.

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused, but this decision was required in an effort to protect the health of all participants and their families/communities. We would like to thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to having you with us in Cyprus in September 2020.

On behalf of the RCIS 2020 Organizing Committee
