CISA and the FBI issue alert about rise in ransomware attacks of K-12 schools
Schools are warned to expect increases in ransomware attacks, data theft, and disruption of distance learning to students throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. Additionally, there is also evidence of more denial of service and live video conference disruptions. School systems need to improve their cybersecurity measures including patch management, use strong passwords, backing up data, and installation of security software throughout the system.
