This session of the SAE 2012 World Congress focuses on processes, methods, and tools for the design, analysis, and synthesis of cyber secure automotive embedded systems. The analysis aspect shall cover (but not be restricted to) static code analysis methods and tools for analyzing the vulnerabilities of embedded software (application and platform) prior to their deployment on the target HW.

The purpose of this workshop is to explore concepts and tools for comprehensive architectural frameworks that include the physical as well as the cyber elements of cyber-physical systems. Such CPS Architectures will support the complete development process, including the evaluation of interactions and design tradeoffs across the cyber-physical boundaries.

Goal The goal of the CPS Community Forum is to facilitate  information exchange among industry, government and academic participants of  CPSWEEK.  Topics covered by the Forum  include reports from the Industry Executive board and Academic Executive Board of the CPS Virtual Organization,  discussion of CPS technology needs,  research directions and state of education in the US, summaries of CPS research approaches internationally.

The objective of this special issue is to address theoretical foundations, design methods, deployed systems and education which can realize the shift from solutions which focus only on cyber or physical aspects independently towards a holistic cyber-physical approach and advance state-of-the-art.
